A Different Gift For Valentine’s Day

Written by Lens And Leash

Before Christmas we had our first photo shoot with Karissa Akin of Après Events at The Animal Adoption Center in Jackson, Wyoming. It went so well they decided to bring Karissa back in for a Valentine’s Day shoot with all of the new animals up for adoption.

The first photo shoot was incredibly successful in helping get awareness out to people about the variety of animals available at the Animal Adoption Center. Being able to share these animal’s individual stories highlights their own specific traits and what makes them who they are and why they need a loving forever home.

Out of the 20 plus animals photographed only 8 still need to be adopted from the first batch.  The adoption rates at The Animal Adoption Center are impressive! Each day we find new animals being adopted while a couple new faces are being rescued. The amount of love and heart from this community is incredible!

Check out the new adorable faces (along with a couple from before) up for adoption for Valentine’s Day and consider a new gift this year where a sweet little soul gets a new loving home instead of chocolates!

Thank you so much Karissa and Après Events for the wonderful photos and continuing to help these adorable animals find their forever home!

Tofu And Piper – The Perfect Valentine

Update – Adopted! Tofu (in the box) came to the Animal Adoption Center just after Christmas and had a really bad skin infection and ear mites. He was in Quarantine for a month before we moved him to kitty city. Once he was in kitty city however, it only took him about 3 days to find a home. He lives with two other cats!

Update – Adopted! Piper (on the left) is a middle aged, female, Domestic Short Hair, Calico, princess. She is queen of Kitty City and everyone knows it! She loves to be pet, which will turn into sassy play. She is regal and always watching over the other cats and people.

Petunia – Who You Have Been Looking For

Update – Adopted! She was found wandering in a field about 4 miles from the nearest road. She was turned into the Idaho Falls shelter and never claimed. She was transferred to us and adopted a few days later. Her adopters are a young couple who had been looking for a new dog for a few months.

Libby – Hurricane Harvey Survivor

Update – Adopted! Libby arrived at the Adoption Center in September of 2017. She was a displaced animal from the Hurricane Harvey aftermath. This friendly gal gets along great with everyone! She is very sweet and likes to pose for pictures.

Dottie – Half Hippo Half Love Bug

Dottie is her name and she is the sweetest most loving dog you could meet. I know everyone says that, but Dottie is the definition of a sweet dog. She would be the happiest dog in the world lounging around, going for a hike, smelling flowers while you fish (she literally walks around smelling flowers), you name it and she’d just be happy to be with you. Dottie is such a gorgeous, loving, sweet, smart, snuggly dog.

Zeek – Your New Best Friend

Update – Adopted! He was an owner surrender to the Idaho Falls shelter. He lived his entire life outside. He was transferred to us and spent two weeks here. He was adopted by a couple that have had dogs their entire lives and were looking for their next best friend.

Lego – Coming Out Of Her Shell

Update – Adopted! She came to us a few months ago from Idaho Falls. She was very shy at first but came out of her shell. She was adopted yesterday by a family that has adopted other animals from us in the past!

Harper – A True Beauty

Harper is a domestic short haired female that is approximately 3 years old. She was put in the dropbox in Idaho Falls and arrived at the Animal Adoption Center on 6/26/17. She can be really shy at first but once she trusts you, she is a really sweet girl!

Sky – Love At First Sight

Update – Adopted! She was surrendered to the Idaho Falls shelter and transferred to us. She went home with a young couple who were actually interested in a different dog we had at the time, but decided to give Sky a try. They fell in love and decided to keep her! She is their first dog.
