This Fall we partnered up with Jackson travel, commercial, editorial, nature, action and portrait photographer Jay-Nel McIntosh to capture the new faces at the Teton County Animal Shelter. Although we were bombarded with some snow on the shoot we were blessed with a pocket of sunshine that broke through while we got to spend time with these adorable pups and cats.
Jay has an easy and natural way about her and you almost don’t even realize that she has the lens up shooting in the space. Her natural eye for light, saturation and her subject come through so effortlessly. We were excited to see these adorable beings through her eyes and lens.
Thank you to Jay and the Teton County Animal Shelter for your precious time and your help in finding these sweet animals their forever homes!
Please consider adding one of them to your family today.

Coco:
This lady is a 4-year-old Labrador/Border Collie Mix. She is very energetic and playful. Coco likes to play fetch. She is brilliant and loves to be around people. She can be a great running and hiking companion. Coco is very vocal about the things that interest her. She is good around other dogs with a proper introduction. Coco loves to be rewarded with sweet walks.
Cupcake:
This lady is quite a kitty and ready to sweeten your life up! She is very social and enjoys being picked up and loved on, making her a great lap cat. She can’t wait to show off her extra toes. She needs to be the only cat in her new home but could certainly live with friendly dogs.
Harley:
WOW, who do we have here? Harley is an 8 year old incredibly handsome, affectionate and loving fluff ball. Since he was surrendered without any papers, we tried to figure out what special breed he is. With his gorgeous coat and distinct pattern we determined that he looks a lot like a Norwegian Forest Cat. Of course we can’t be 100% sure, but who cares anyway with such a fabulous specimen of a cat. He is bicolored with a lovely dark brown and white coat. He and his lovely sister, Muffy, were very much loved by their former mom. Sadly she had to get out of a bad situation which forced her to surrender her precious cats to the shelter. We would love nothing more than to find this pair a caring, calm and permanent home where their new parent(s) will promise to keep them together, not to declaw them, and keep them indoors only. We don’t think the cats will do well with very small children. Older, cat savvy children may be ok. Harley would prefer not to have competition from other male felines.
Kitty:
Kitty is a fantastic lady. She does not care for being picked up much, but she is a lover. Kitty likes being petted on. She is ready to snuggle with you. She gets along with most dogs. Kitty is very resilient and the independent kind. She does need a loving and patient person to be with.
Lola:
Lola is a 2-year-old German Shepard with a positive attitude toward life. She is as smart as they come. Lola is very loving and demonstrative. She is full of energy, and she can make a great running and biking companion. Lola is also calm to be in an office environment. Lola is great with people once she gets to know you.
Max:
Max is a handsome young athlete with a zest for adventure and playtime. He enjoys a good wrestle session with his canine counterparts and particularly loves tug-of-war. He knows his basic obedience commands and is very smart so he loves new challenges.
Muffy:
Muffy is beautiful long haired 8 year young seal point Himalayan. Muffy and her very handsome brother Harley, a stunning Norwegian Forest Cat, were very much loved by their former mom. Sadly she had to get out of a bad situation which forced her to surrender her precious cats to the shelter. Most people want Himalayans for their known sweet and easy going personality. Unfortunately Muffy tends to be pretty sky and skittish, morose with men. On the other hand, we also know that there are kind, cat savvy men and women in this world who completely accept that some felines are meant to grace our homes with their beauty more than being a lap kitty. Some people actually treasure the supposed ‘aloof’ nature of cats and will let a cat just be a cat. However, if you do like having a loving cat around you, you’ll get your wish because adopting Muffy also means adopting her handsome and human connected brother Harley. Muffy had a recent dental and a lion cut for the summer. We would love nothing more than to find this pair a caring, calm and permanent home where their new parent(s) will promise to keep them together, not to declaw them, and keep them indoors only. We don’t think the cats will do well with very small children. Older, cat savvy children may be ok.
Nugget:
Nugget is a smart and active 3 year old looking for a stable home where he feels secure and loved. He is very smart and can be very affectionate with those he trusts. Originally a street dog in the Virgin Islands, he’s come a long way so far and is hoping to find someone willing to help him continue his journey. We have no doubt the kisses and love you get in return will be well worth it!
Roxy:
Friendly older lady that is seeking a pleasant retirement home to live out her golden years. While she would love a beach front condo in Miami, she is not opposed to other locales as long as they are toasty warm. Roxy is blind, but does a very fine job of navigating around her surroundings. She enjoys the company of humans and does not mind other mellow felines.
Snickers:
Snickers is one of a kind. He is the last of his litter of 5 and is ready to party with his new people. He loves the company of other cats and will bond with people if they are patient and kind. His likes include snuggling, giving back massages and small dinner parties.
Zeta:
Zeta is a delightful Hound Mix that has spent some of her life in Utah. She is looking for a home with no other dogs or cats but appears to do well around people of all ages. Her personality makes her unique, sweet and adorable. She is very energetic and will need an active owner.
